What is the magic of Tehuacana?
The Indians settled on this "magic" hill for its many natural springs, its beautiful landscaping, and its coveted resources. Tehuacana was nearly the capital of Texas! If you are lucky to make it to Tehuacana and blessed to live here, you may not want to leave. The town belongs to its seventh generation of settlers, talented artists and educated residents. It takes pride in its city elections (although pop. 307), works to improve its parks and roadsides, and maintains its reputation as a quiet, safe, and slow moving community. From the tower of the original Trinity University's 'Texas Hall' can be seen seven counties.
Just outside the city limits is the most treasured natural observatory around.
